Introducing the DREAMHOST TRADE SHOW BOOTH. Note the ample room for strolling, stretching, high-fiving, and macramé.
We’re not actually going to a trade show. And hosting conferences still aren’t for us. But we do need to hire people. Badly. Quickly.
We have a soft spot in our hearts for students of the Claremont Colleges of Southern California…particularly Harvey Mudd. So we’ll be there next Friday the 19th at their career fair!
If you’re a student at any of the Claremont Colleges, please stop by! You never know what you might find… DreamHost swag, new friends, maybe even a job!
If you’re not a student, don’t bother coming! You can apply online, right now, for any of our open positions.

I think a fringed lamp would look nice and, possibly, a gum dispenser ……..

[You should always offer fringe benefits]

Looks like a great podium for a press conference and/or introductions for webinars and/or video tutorials and/or video emails.

“If you’re not a student, don’t bother coming!”
What!? You mean the podium is not awesome enough to justify coming@!?
February 9th, 2010 at 1:49 pm
Perhaps a Barca-Lounger. Maybe a copy of Josh’s monthly newsletter to prepare applicants for what they have to look forward too. Oh wait, I hear all Mudders as weird like Josh. NM.
February 9th, 2010 at 2:14 pm
That is totally amazing, I think we need one also!
February 9th, 2010 at 4:38 pm
I wish you had some positions going in Australia…
February 9th, 2010 at 4:46 pm
That looks like the both that Facebook used to present HipHop last week.

What’s next, a podium? DreamHost for president?

I’m actually unimpressed. I would figure with your slick moon logo you’d go for a nice night time scene – not what appears to be a less hilly version of the old Windows XP default wallpaper.

With the economy as it is, it’s hard to believe you need to go to job fairs to get employees.
Usually, on the news, there are reports of hundreds of applications for any open positions.
February 16th, 2010 at 5:53 pm
I would imagine that they’re just doing a job fair to try to attract more interest.
Personally, I’d love to do some sort of tech support; I rely on them all the time, and they really seem to actually enjoy the work they do. It’s just unfortunate that Las Vegas is 400 miles away.

@Dreamhost
You’re 7 versions of PHP behind (5.2.6).
Please upgrade to the latest version, v5.2.13
March 2nd, 2010 at 7:03 am
@Timothy: I’ll let our administrators know, but upgrading PHP versions is something we like to test out and ensure that everything will continue to work as expected after the fact.
What are you looking for, specifically, in this new version that’s not available in what we offer? If there’s some killer features available in the new version that we don’t currently offer, this can definitely help motivate the administrators to work toward deploying this version sooner.

@Dreamhost-MikeS
I can’t speak for Timothy but since the current version of PHP hosted at Dreamhost (5.2.6), there has been something like 400+ bug fixes over the last 7 releases of PHP.
That many bug fixes alone is reason enough for me to want the current version of PHP 5.2.
