Nightmare Host 2009
November 3, 2009 on 2:10 pm | In Insider View by Josh Jones | 16 Comments
We had our annual Halloween party this Saturday, at the Beverly Wilshire hotel, famous from such movies as Pretty Woman, Beverly Hills Ninja, and Upscale Bangers 38.

Clearly, there were a lot of great costumes, none more betterer than the classic “Sunburned Surf Vampire”.

Well, there was one more betterer. We had a costume contest, and Javier’s ended up getting second place:

And first.

NOBODY else got a single vote!

Why are there so many hot lady-types at a web hosting company?

I now see what you were all working on during the big #dreamhost #fail event.
The people who lost business during the three days their server was down salute your crafty costumes.

It makes me happy to know that not only do I get kick-ass hosting, but you throw in pics of what looks like an awesome party for free!
Keep up the good work =)

The one labeled “I could not figure out what they were supposed to be” is Curious George and the Man in the Yellow Hat.

The hotties just show up for the free hosting.
And why couldn’t Josh figure out how to rotate a video? Or how to hold a camera the right way? Thank goodness DH doesn’t make us turn our heads to the left to use the panel because they couldn’t figure out linebreaks.

So how does this have anything to do with upgrading PHP and SubVersion?

nice pics. the robot is great!! :-D
…but is still wonder: why is dreamhost ignoring the t-shirt contest completely and doesnt answer the questions from the customers?????
instead there are just new blog posts…
that is not very nice.

thanks Dreamhost for making me jealous that I wasn’t at a cool party like that! although my costume would have been to come as the annoying guy who spits when he talks!

@Michael
Perhaps because, contrary to popular belief, there are women on the internet and in the IT industry…?
Or, at the very least, some of the male employees have overcome their web-hosting-nerd handicaps to actually acquire girlfriends.
Yay for stereotypes.
