When you sell your NY place, consider buying here. The cost of living is cheaper and the lifestyle is awesome.

Good luck on your Open House!

  2. Eric Says:

How about you spend less time pimping your fucking condo and more time making sure your goddamn servers are running?

  3. Repitition Work Says:

@Eric, If he spent all his time worrying about your kitty littler blog, then you wouldn’t have time to troll web hosting blogs, I wouldn’t be able to make fun of you for it, and the internet that we have come to know and love would cease to exist!

  4. Jeff Says:

    Eric -

Amazingly, DreamHost employees literally _dozens_ of people who work day-and-night to help keep servers running.

Surprisingly, this works in such a way that some employees – such as those who don’t do server administration at all – can spend their time doing other things (including posting the occasional weblog entry).

A wikipedia article for your reading pleasure:

    @Eric
While I don’t really care about Josh’s condo, if you are having a problem with your server going down, that is a problem for tech support, not Josh. If Josh feels like advertising his condo on his blog, who cares! It is his blog! Why not leverage a high traffic blog to sell your condo. I personally am shocked that he is so willingly giving out his home address to all of his customers. I think it is pretty cool that Josh is open about his personal life. Regardless, I doubt many people who use Dreamhost can afford his condo.

    Just my two cents…

  6. Jeff Says:

It’s been a while since I’ve talked to Josh, but my guess is that he’s selling it because he no longer lives there (he spends a lot of his time here on the west coast, where all the cool people live). :)

    @ Eric

Dreamhost doesnt care about your website or its web-server status/uptime.

They have a bunch of kids running the show there managed by a few adults, who are actually more childish than the childen themselves.

This “division of labour” to quote Jeff… keep pricing low, profits high, and your website slow and unusable.

Just as a fair comparison, think of Walmart vs Nordstroms.

Um, yeah, that’s exactly what “division of labor” means.

    Right.

  9. Boo Hoo Says:

It’s funny how it’s always the whiny little kiddies throwing baby tantrums that are the ones to accuse Dreamhost of being children.

They’re always idiots that usually fall into one of these categories:

    - Whiny ex-customers that got booted for not being smart enough to read the TOS and somehow blame Dreamhost instead of their own parents for how useless they turned out.

    - Whiny customers that are stupid enough to pay to be somewhere they hate and spend their days crying about it.

    - Competitors that know Dreamhost doesn’t censor their blogs, unlike themselves.

Then you get the morons that think anyone that doesn’t cry like a girl all day is an employee.

  10. dreamhost user Says:

get your fucking servers in order

  11. michael Says:

@dreamhost user: if you are a real dreamhost user include your domain hosted with us. there was no current outage when you posted this.

  12. Shawn Says:

    @Dreamhost user

Your about as mature as 60 newborn chicks in a hardees sack

  13. Thomas Says:

Flame war on a Dreamhost blog…

This is actually more entertaining than the blog post itself so keep up the good work :-P

  14. Real Estate in Baja Says:

How the open house went? Any luck?

  15. Fred Burke Says:

    Yeah, Josh! I’m with Baja…
