ANOTHER Happy DreamHost Customer
October 3, 2008 on 3:36 pm | In Funnyish, Insider View by Josh Jones |
A strange thing happened today.
Shortly after our typical free Fridays lunch was finished, another free Friday lunch appeared… delivered courtesy of Pizza Hut!?
What the?
Well, it turned out, Dan had helped a customer with a .htaccess problem with their site (and it’s not even completely working it looks like?) and the Happy DreamHost Customer wrote back:
I hope you guys are hungry!
Tell everybody to expect lunch on me.
Pizza Hut will be delivering a BUNCH of food and drinks in about an
hour.
And he wasn’t kidding!
That probably cost at least six months of hosting too.. thanks dude! I’d like to state that this is the kind of behavior we’d like to strongly encourage!
Way better than some of those other customers.
It’s just too bad it was on a Friday.

Alex is a moron.

Alex stay on topic. Only happy dreamhost customers should be commenting on this post. Next time there is a post about customers who dislike dreamhost, prefer to write in all caps, or give unwanted advice, feel free to chime in.

I don’t mean to be overly rude, but I will be anyway.

Dreamhost is hosting a well known spammer. This, IMHO, is not good.
Please look into it and take appropriate action.
That said, my compliments to DH and its staff for the good work in supporting your customer, even if he’s a spammer.

Rex, when you’re done being a moron, take note that Dreamhost doesn’t host Pizza Hut. The other link is their customer.
If you’re going to keep taking stupid pills, maybe you should at least lower the dosage.

I wonder how many of these comments are just off angry competitors that aren’t getting free food off their customers.
Nice work. I have used the dreamhost support many times and have had billing problems due to my own stupidity. All problems were quickly resolved. The same goes with previous technical support.
Keep up the good work/blogging.

Hi DH guys, I am really happy for your friday second lunch. I just hope that it wasn’t the reason why you haven’t replied to my 4 letters asking for URGENT help, because I have problems with my account, which was suspended. I still haven’t heard from you. Hope to hear from you on Monday. And hope not many people will die untill then )) by the way, this is not a joke and we beg you once again to help us .
October 5th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
Maybe the reason is that you sent the same message 4 times? Or maybe they suspended you for a reason and they’re ignoring you?
The amount of common sense it takes to know this isn’t the place to post, is probably about the same amount of common sense it takes to not get your account suspended.
October 6th, 2008 at 9:54 am
Captain Obvious, you are very rude with your customers. It’s not the matter of common sense, it is examination of your conscience. I appologize that I posted message in the wrong place.
October 6th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
Not too bright, are you?
These are Dreamhost’s customers–not mine.
If you thought I was a Dreamhost employee because I posted here, then you must have thought you were one too… and you could have just reactivated your own account.

lol @ captain obvious

Alex -
As the good Captain said, he is not a DreamHost employee.
If you have problems with your account, please contact Technical Support directly via the web panel.
This weblog is not routinely monitored by TS nor is it a viable means with which to receive technical support assistance.

So when are we getting our slices? :D
October 7th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
I agree with John Knowles. I have had DreamHost.com as my host for some 3 years now. The only complaint I had is when they overcharged me like 4 times what I paid but they paid it back before I even seen it, so they are forgave. Shit happens!
I have been with 2 other hosts that absolutely sucked bass (yes the fish). One’s data center burnt up and as a response they offered a more expensive plan, WTF kind of an offer is that???
DreamHost gives me more features even when I don’t do anything to deserve it.
I think dreamhost is the best host in the whole world!
October 8th, 2008 at 6:15 am
:( No more Pizza Hut… It’s Pasta Hut now… :( Or is that only happening here in the UK.
October 8th, 2008 at 7:28 am
en .ok…
October 8th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Whoa…. they changed it to PASTA HUT? Utterly ridiculous.
That said, they have started offering pasta here in the US. But I had no idea that they were changing their name!
October 8th, 2008 at 9:15 pm
Bah, pizza? I can totally one-up that.
Here you go, just shipped out a few 2010 Camaros to everyone at Dreamhost. It’s on the house!
Expect UPS by the morning.
October 9th, 2008 at 7:02 am
I wish I was a happy customer. And that it wouldn’t take you over 20 hours to completely ignore my support ticket. If you ever get my site back up, I’m taking my business elsewhere.
October 9th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
So, as long as your site is down, you’ll stay–but if it’s up, you’ll leave? You seem really smart.
Maybe they’ll just leave it down forever so they can lock you in as a customer for life. You should switch to the 10-year pre-payment plan now so you can at least save a few bucks over the course of your lifetime.
October 9th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
I can’t take it anywhere when I don’t have access to it, dumbass.
October 10th, 2008 at 12:23 am
You’re just making yourself look dumber, if that’s even possible.
A site being down doesn’t stop you from having FTP access. I’m guessing that instead of your site being down, you meant to say you’ve been booted for being too stupid to follow the TOS, right?
That aside, only imbeciles are affected by that anyway, since anyone that isn’t one would have a backup of their site.
So if I’m the dumbass, then why are you the one that’s in a situation that only dumbasses end up in?
See where it says, “Submit Comment” under the box that you’re probably typing something stupid in? If you stop clicking on it, it will be a lot harder for people to tell that you don’t know what you’re talking about.
October 13th, 2008 at 9:02 am
You were going to send me the name of the person who helped you get your web-site up.
November 2nd, 2008 at 12:17 pm
teşekkür ederim.
