[...] So, Dreamhost is apparently not for personal storage. Fuck that. I’ll use 100% of the 500GB of hard drive space if I fucking want to. If you guys are going to be assholes and require that my webspace be used primarily for hosting a website, then I’ll just encrypt everything and make it publicly accessible. Basically, you guys are being assholes and need to stop. You’re pissing a lot of people off and now a bunch want to leave. It’s funny how this comes right after the whole LunarPages thing.
Hey guys, I need an opinion....

The Lunar forums are no different from other forums like PowWeb. It seems like most hosts (not all) heavily censor their forums and customers have no real place to go to state their opinions.

We quickly found out that even sites like WebHostingTalk will lock topics and leave clients stranded.

The LPrefugees was a good idea but ultimately the site will only get traffic as long as a subject is hot. Then it dies off until the next episode.

The review sites on the net are all bogus and a ton of them are owned or in bed with web hosting companies.

So I'm seriously considering putting up a site like WebhostsUncensored.com as a forum and making forums for all the major hosting companies. This way when the host deletes topics the clients have a place to go where they can freely chat without being censored or fear of the topic getting closed.

A site like that would be a true measure of finding out how clients really felt about a host. The important thing is that I make it so it also has a place to put positive experiences. The we could make a rating system and use it to allow actual customers to vote on their host.

Now some of you might say sites like that already exist but I have yet to find one where customers were able to freely vent. There is always some ass closing the topic because a webhost is advertising or paying promotional fees.

Maybe I could partner with someone, or would anyone be willing to help moderate?

Email domain name suggestions to Frank@MapleOne.com

Feedback would also be appreciated
