Right now outside our window they’re unloading an “aggreko diesel rent-a-generator”.
This is to get the generators up to N+1 again while they repair the last one that’s still being cranky.
Dun dun dun…

Just got your email. You guys turned what sounds like a minor catastrophe (Compared to other recent catastrophes) into a hiccup I never noticed. Keep up the good work!

That generator is absolutely… massive. Looks like something that should be powering a submarine, not an office building… However, considering their recent track records I’m not sure I’d trust it to keep me from sinking into an abyss, eh :-D

One fails you’ve got another one to handle the load or whatever. There are different degrees of resilience, and that’s where the term n+1 (which they also talk about later comes into play). N being the nominal number of generators they need to supply the building completely, and plus 1 for the additional generator, in case one fails. [...]
