My contribution [2.82 mb]. It’s .wmv, apologies if that causes problems, but then, the source .mov file isn’t the most malleable format either.
Enjoy! I did.

So, Dreamhost is running a contest. They are looking for ‘remixes’ of a short video they have posted on their site. Since the prize is free webhosting, for life.. I figured.. what the heck… remix3.mp4 its a 4 meg…

Welp here ya go. I know better than to procrastinate so I got my entry in early. I think it turned out okay for my very first foray into video editing. It’s like 13mb, because I don’t know how to shrink it. Sorry :(
Plus, I love this song lol.

Dance Like You’re Selling Butterflies.
is by far the best so far.
BUT, you gotta remix the audio too.
if someone can actually remix the audio and make it cool, that would be amazing….

I just started Digital Video this semester, so I thought this would be a good project to learn Final Cut Pro :) My entry is kinda short but I learnt heaps through doing it!

By “remix audio” do you mean you want the original audio with a new twist, or completely different audio is fine – like most of the other entries posted?

GGC Media – O Green World (Gorillaz) (9.72MB) DivX (.avi)
My intention is to push the original idea a little bit further, with some ideas of my own. I shot some additional footage with a small digital camera and also got some of it from the net.
I would have liked to remix the audio but the source material’s audio was too faint and already mixed with music, so I just went with a Gorillaz song with the same pace.

I remixed the audio and the video, made it all crunchy and stuff. If anyone wants a larger version let me know.

It seems that my movie (above) on Safari for some reason generates a 404, but when you refresh the movie loads… I’m not sure why… But it loads perfectly fine.
November 10th, 2005 at 1:51 pm
My second Non-crunchy remix (15.3MB) MPEG 4

Just have to say that this contest rocks! I have the audio component to my entry, but if I can get my iMovie working, and if the deadline is still Nov 11, I can hopefully have the video part up by this afternoon.
Anywhoo, hope you enjoy the audio remix. I would totally like to make more (both audio & vid!) after this & perhaps some collaborations with others. :)
Thanks dreamhost for allowing us to spread the freakiness that is Dancing Butterflies.

ok my iMovie is really not working too quickly but here is my vid with the accompanying audio. in very small format, as it is taking way too long to compress. I’ll upload a larger version as soon as I can.
