Servers by the pound.

How often do YOU get $55,000 of servers delivered to YOUR house?
And when you do, do YOU get free stickers like us?

Ooh!
You guys should totally send out stickers to customers. Just the dreamhost logo.
Free promo is always good, and besides, I’d stick it on my guitar case, just because.
:/

If you send out free stickers make sure I get some in the next couple of weeks. I’m going to the AOL datacenter in Reston, VA (I was surprised it wasn’t in Dulles, VA). Anyway, I think AOL might enjoy a few DreamHost stickers too. :D

Yeah, guitar case stickers!
What is the obsession with people wanting photos of the servers, does every server room not look the same? :) - A mess of wires with lots of different coloured servers all over the place?
We also want pics of all the staff sitting at their desks making funny faces at the emails they recieve from the dreamhosted people.

Hey, send me some stickers… I’ll stick them all over the place!
August 1st, 2005 at 8:06 pm

Cool stuff. The Apple store I work at just got a bunch of printers and plotting machines delivered, and a bunch of rolls of sticker paper (yes, rolls) so I will be immediately making a sh*tload of stickers to start vandalizing the town with.
*evil thoughts*

August 2nd, 2005 at 5:58 am

August 2nd, 2005 at 5:59 am

August 2nd, 2005 at 6:20 am
Oh, I miss having my own datacenter. Pallets of Suns in days gone by….

Stack once… then end it!
August 2nd, 2005 at 6:45 am
“High Claim Value.” Now I know how to get UPS to stop beating up my stuff before they deliver it!
August 2nd, 2005 at 6:08 pm
That fire extinguisher is more powerful than it first appears. Woosh and any fire anywhere is out in the blink of an eye. Don’t be knockin’ what you do not comprehend!
August 3rd, 2005 at 1:38 am
Damn ! Those servers are sexy !
Can you tear the wrapping a little…
And give us a tease ? Please….
August 3rd, 2005 at 7:24 am
Looks just like every other data center I’ve ever worked in. I see your servers by the pallet and raise servers by the roomful (used to work for a very large Dedicated Hosting company).
I just got a few rail kits ordered for my datacenter in the house. I’ve started racking my first few servers, but need to get a larger rack-mountable switch for the rest of my boxes. Going big has its disadvantages.
August 3rd, 2005 at 12:14 pm
These ‘protected’ servers are called “safe serv” … !
August 13th, 2005 at 12:24 pm
Judging from the Silicon Mechanics stickers on the pallets, I’m guessing the servers are one of the models on this page: http://www.siliconmechanics.com/c198/products/rackmount-servers/intel.php
I hear SM makes some nice AMD64 kit too… :-)

If you give me a mess of free stickers I’ll get my friend to wear them in the nude while running across a big football game. Go football!
